Dr Boon is the residency program director of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck surgery and also serves as the Educational Vice Chair in the department.  He is actively involved in teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.  He has lectured locally, nationally , and internationally on topics ranging from obstructive sleep apnea to surgical treatment of swallowing disorders.  He has numerous publications and is co-editor of the first book detailing treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with upper airway stimulation.

My work is always an effort to improve quality of life. Good sleep is critical to our health and well-being and being able to positivity influence quality of sleep is extremely rewarding. Similarly, voice and swallowing are integral to who and what we are and I am passionate about trying to help people afflicted with disorders that impair these aspects of our daily life.
